The art of layering
Every closet should have few basic essentials that will complete the outfit, especially when you are struggling with question: What will I wear with THAT?
One of the absolute basics are layering tanks. Start with two colours of the same or complimentary cut. This approach allows you to build your wardrobe gradually. You may ask: Why should I add tank-tops to my wardrobe?
1. The most versatile and forgiving piece of garment. You do not have to worry about your tummy with loose fitting tanks :)
2. Wear all year round - on its own in the summer, layered under (or over) sweater, cardigan, dress, jacket or coat during colder weather.
3. Lighter fabrics allow endless layering, length and colour combinations.
4. Tanks allow freedom of movement and versatility or removing pieces in transitional seasons - those cold mornings and warm afternoons.
5. Mom alert: most of us will appreciate the ability of this garment to brilliantly cover imperfections around the core and hip area. If you carry weight in those areas, tanks are for you! Choose longer version when you want to cover hips, layered with shorter tanks on top.
HOW TO WEAR:
1. If you don't carry height, choose shorter tanks.
2. Wear two loose fitting complimentary tanks or tighter fitting tank under the looser tank and longer tank under shorter tank.
3. Wear with anything. This is go-to garment to add-on if nothing else works. Remember that you can further layer with a piece that has sleeves.
